William T. Watson

Tom Watson earned both his B.S. degree (1966) and his J.D. degree (1969) from the University of Alabama.

Mr. Watson concentrates his practice on oil and gas regulatory matters, and mineral law.

Background:

• Served in the United States Army as a Legal Officer in the Saigon Support Command in the Republic of Vietnam.
• Former Assistant Attorney General of Alabama for the State Oil and Gas Board and the Geological Survey of Alabama.
• Member of the Executive Committee of the Mississippi/Alabama Division of US Oil and Gas Association.
• Co-Chairman of the Oil & Gas Board Advisory Committee.
• Member of the Board of Directors of the General US Oil & Gas Association.
• Appointed in June, 1995 by the Speaker of the House of Representatives as a member of the Permanent Oil and Gas Study Committee, a standing committee of the Alabama Legislature.
• In 1993, received Mid-Continent's Distinguished Service Award in recognition of exemplary service to the industry and the Association.
• Member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen.
• Member of the Coalbed Methane Association of Alabama.
• Member of the American Bar Association.
• Member of the Alabama State Bar Association.
